Specific Need
Funds raised from the GiveChoose fundraising day will be used for various projects we currently do. One of which is our Thanksgiving and Holiday giving to African American families in need. We have been able to serve many families during the holidays with food and gifts. Families are afforded the opportunity to get a Turkey and the trimmings that come along with it. The families can also at the Christmas Holiday time can pick up gift cards and toys for their children. Over the last two years, we have been able to provide to over 300 African American families. These families are from the Leesburg area and also cover all of Loudoun County.
Our other program or event we do is our Juneteenth Celebration 2024 event. We have had over 4000 attendees through our first three years of having the event. This event takes alot of planning and funds to make it possible. Each year we strive to make it better than the previous year by adding to either the entertainment, or making sure we continue to have a family friendly event. We were fortunate enough to have the Chuck Brown Band as our headliner the first two years and we make it a priortity to make sure we include all local entertainers so that they are able to showcase their talents. With that being said, we are hopeful to be able to raise as much as we can to help offset the many costs associated with putting on this event.
