Specific Need

1 in 3 households in the DMV area face child food insecurity. Many low-income families rely on school meals to feed their children, who often go hungry on the weekends and during school breaks when these meals are not available. The WGB Snack Pack program provides convenient bundles of easy-to-prepare meals for kids. Each Snack Pack, lovingly packaged by our volunteers, contains two breakfast items, two entrees, four snacks, and one drink.

We are looking to raise $3,000 to supplement our Snack Pack program, which is increasingly important during the upcoming weeks when schools go on Spring Break and kids are unable to receive school-provided meals. Last year we distributed over 7,000 Snack Packs to children we serve, and we hope to continue filling this need in the community.
