Goal: $4,000.00
Specific Need
Animal Education and Rescue Organization (A.E.R.O.) is fundraising for new incubators for our licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Incubators are essential for the success of orphaned wildlife, especially in the neonatal stage. An incubator not only controls the temperature needs, but also the humidity levels required for the hundreds of wildlife babies that come into care. This is especially important for our opossum babies as they are used to a high humidity pouch environment, and our cottontails as they require constant heat. Since A.E.R.O has incorporated the use of incubators into our caregiving, we have seen a dramatically increased success rate of neonatal survival among all the species that we raise and release. We have set a monetary goal of $4000 to raise enough money to purchase 5 new incubators along with appropriate bedding to equip all of our rehabilitators this 2024 baby season. Thank you so much for your help in our cause! This is your local wildlife, and they appreciate all your support!

Profile
Animal Education and Rescue Organization (A.E.R.O.) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned, injured and sick native Virginia wildlife in need of help in order to survive. Our Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (VDWR) licensed wildlife rehabilitators, apprentices, and care providers devote hundreds of hours to restore the wildlife in their care to good health so that they can be released back into the wild. All of our rehabilitation effort is provided in the homes of our volunteers. They dedicate hours of their time to continuing education, training, and hand raising orphans, and treating injured wildlife. The majority of the expenses of these practices are paid for out of their own pockets. Being able to be a part of Give Choose will enable A.E.R.O to help off set those costs and provide our rehabilitators with costly life saving equipment.
