Goal: $2,500.00
Specific Need
The graduation rate of African American males trails the average in Loudoun County. They are most likely to trail their peers, drop out, or not pursue college. There is a great need to provide role models that young men can identify with and engage in an ongoing dialogue through mentorship and activities focused on their development and gaining a positive mindset. Additionally, the JGH Foundation strives to engage many emerging scholars, starting in middle school to make them aware of academic excellence and the opportunities that STEM careers can provide.
Resources are vitally needed to properly augment the engagement programs with printed materials (workbooks, books, lab supplies), field trips, and other materials as needed.
