Ways NSMI has supported community organizations or causes in Loudoun County: NSMI has a deep-rooted commitment to supporting the Loudoun County community through various health and wellness initiatives. Over the past year, NSMI has:

  • Hosted mobile blood drives: NSMI organizes regular blood drives in partnership with local organizations, helping to meet the critical demand for blood donations in the region. These drives not only provide a vital resource to the community but also encourage the public to engage in acts of service.
  • Advocated for student safety and injury prevention: Through close collaboration with Loudoun County Public Schools, NSMI advocates for policies that protect student-athletes, including stricter injury prevention protocols and access to athletic trainers. This effort has led to positive changes in school safety policies, directly impacting the well-being of local youth.
  • Sports Physicals: Each year, NSMI offers low cost and free sports physicals to student-athletes in the community, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent students from participating in organized sports.
  • Student Athlete Scholarships: NSMI has created a scholarship program that recognizes student-athletes for their leadership, academic excellence, and commitment to health, while providing financial support for their future educational endeavors.
  • Donation Drives: NSMI hosts annual donation drives for sporting goods, winter gear, and toys, partnering with local organizations to support families in need. These efforts not only help meet immediate community needs but also promote a spirit of giving among NSMI staff and patients.

Results of NSMI’s philanthropic activities and leadership over the past year: NSMI’s philanthropic activities have yielded significant results over the past year:

  • Advocacy for Athletic Trainers in Loudoun Schools: NSMI’s leadership in advocating for more athletic trainers in Loudoun County schools has led to increased funding and the hiring of additional trainers. This has resulted in enhanced safety for student-athletes, reducing injury risks and ensuring that injured students receive prompt care.
  • Residency Programs: Through the Sports Medicine Physical Therapy and Athletic Training residency programs, NSMI has cultivated the next generation of healthcare providers. These programs offer hands-on experience in a dynamic clinical setting and have a lasting impact on the careers of residents while enhancing the quality of care NSMI delivers to the community.

Awards, recognitions, or acknowledgments for community support: NSMI has garnered multiple accolades for its dedication to community leadership and healthcare excellence:

  • Loudoun County Community Leadership Award: NSMI has previously been recognized by the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce for its commitment to supporting the local community through healthcare services, outreach, and philanthropy.
  • Recognition from Loudoun County Public Schools: The practice has been formally acknowledged by the school system for its advocacy work in promoting athletic trainer support and student safety across Loudoun schools.
  • Community Awards: NSMI’s scholarship and community award programs have been well-received, with many student-athletes benefiting from both the recognition and financial support these awards provide.
