Goal: $1,000.00
Specific Need
The Loudoun Environmental Educational Alliance (LEEA) holds an annual Student Environmental Action Showcase (SEAS) each year where individual students, green/eco-action teams, environmental clubs and youth groups are invited to share their work on reducing waste, conserving energy, conducting citizen science, improving water quality, preserving natural habitat and other sustainability-minded projects in their schools and communities. Funding for SEAS includes cash prizes for student ecoprojects, food for volunteers, and other administrative expenses associated with planning and publicizing the event.
In the future, LEEA would like to provide minigrants for school garden clubs, host a student environmental education summit, and develop an awards luncheon to recognize local organizations, educators and students for their leadership in environmental stewardship within Loudoun County.
