Empowering Independence, One Life at a Time
What We Are Doing:
"Ursula, a Latina chef, faced eviction after a severe workplace injury ended her career. Referred to the ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia, she found a friend and advocate in Rosalia Fajardo. With Rosalia's support, Ursula secured a part-time job, avoiding eviction and regaining her dignity. Now thriving in her new role and painting again, Ursula credits the Center for transforming her life. "
"Znecka, a young mother with an intellectual disability, was homeless with her two children. With the dedicated help of Starr Robertson from our nonprofit, she set life goals, obtained SSDI benefits, and retrieved essential documents for her kids. Starr also secured housing vouchers, and now, Znecka and her children are moving into their new apartment this weekend. Their journey to stability and hope was made possible through personalized support. "
At ECNV, our five core services—Peer Counseling, Advocacy, Independent Living Skills Training, Information & Referral, and Transition Services—help individuals with disabilities regain independence, stability, and confidence.
But we need your support to continue transforming lives like Ursula’s and Znecka’s.
- More Peer Mentors to provide guidance and emotional support.
- Expanded Advocacy Efforts to fight for disability rights and resources.
- Enhanced Independent Living Training to equip individuals with the skills to thrive.
- More Outreach & Referral Services to connect people with the help they need.
- Stronger Transition Support to assist with housing, employment, and community integration.
With your donation, we can expand our reach, strengthen our programs, and uplift even more individuals facing barriers to independence.
Will you help us continue this life-changing work? Every contribution makes a difference. Donate today!
