Mission
Seven Loaves Services, Inc. was established in 1994 as an ecumenical, faith-based food pantry dedicated to providing nutritiousfood to those in need in Middleburg and surrounding counties. We serve anyone who comes to us regardless of faith, income, place of residence, or other criteria.
We are a tax exempt, non-profit organization funded by churches, organizations and caring individuals. We keep our overhead low and operate with a staff of one paid employee and many wonderful volunteers. We believe that no person should go hungry or worry about how they will feed themselves or their families.
Profile
We request funding for the purchase of nutritious food and some overhead expenses that directly support our mission. Our mission is to ensure that people in our community do not go hungry and that they know that they can rely on Seven Loaves for food if they need it. We believe that no person should go hungry.
Our patrons have faced unique challenges over the past several years since the pandemic. They have faced job uncertainty, difficulty paying medical bills, and difficulty putting food on their tables. Some have missed meals and/or live in fear that they or their children will miss meals.
We seek your assistance in helping us feed food insecure and hungry individuals and families that do not have the ability to pay for food. Sometimes, these individual and families only need urgent temporary help until they are able to get back on their feet. Other times, their needs are longer while they attempt to solve other problems in their lives, such as mental or physical health issues or are struggling with drug addiction. We seek to continue helping these people and their families have nutritious food to keep them healthy. We find that food insecurity can cause other problems in people’s lives and providing at risk people with food, keeps their lives from spiraling downward and further declining.
We also seek assistance to provide long term nutrition support services to assist individuals whose problems are more difficult to solve, especially the elderly in our community and those suffering from long term mental health or substance abuse problems. We do not turn people away and we do not judge. We believe that all people should be treated lovingly and with dignity. If they come to us for food, we make sure that they get what they need. We work with each individual to keep them healthy, independent and safe from food insecurity. We know most of our patrons and their families on a first name basis.
